A Book About Her

A documentative blog about the creation of the kids book "Love, Always" that me and my siblings made about our mother, Aixa Perez-Prado's, immigration story.

Part Two: Leaving

Aixa Perez-Prado was born February 12th, 1964 in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
At the age of just 2 her mother Beatriz Grisolia (pictured above) moved to Buffalo, New York USA to work as a doctor joining a wave of international medical professionals being recruited to work in North American hospitals.
Two years later her father Antonio Perez-Prado, took her to the airport and put her on a flight with the only explanation of “Mama is waiting for you”. The Mama she hadn’t seen for half of her life now, the Mama that would constantly send her letters, never failing to sign off with “Love, Always”.
About 9 hours later Aixa was in a new country, where she didn’t speak the language, didn’t recognize the people, but her Mama was waiting for her.
With a gift she would never forget.
